POEM
News?
There once was a girl in a play.
With dreams of getting famous one day.
As the curtain came down,
A film crew came 'round.
And followed her family at bay.
There once was a girl on TV.
All the world wanted to see.
Her loves, clothes, and hair,
The world seemed to care.
From the grasp she could never get free.
There once was a girl on the screen.
The public made her mad and mean.
She was filmed day and night.
The tabloids hurt like a bite.
The glitzy life became so obscene.
There once was a girl on a page,
The stores filled her with rage.
Like a stone or a stick,
Words pain and made sick.
She became an animal trapped in a cage.
Right now the celebrity
Is losing important privacy.
With every news wire.
Fueling the fire.
Violating moments is so very ugly.
