BUGLE BEADS SIZES:

SIZE #1  (3/32") (straight)

This size is most often used in embellishing clothing. Sold by the hank. Approximately 2100 Size #1 bugle beads in a hank.

 

SIZE #3  (1/4") (straight and twisted)

Sold by the hank. Approximately 900 Size #3 bugle beads in a hank.

SIZE #5  (1/2") (straight and twisted)

Sold by the hank. Approximately 520 Size #5 bugle beads in a hank.

20mm  (3/4") (straight and twisted)

There is considerable variation in the size of each bead in a package.   The edges are sharp. Most people use these in making snowflakes, stars and Christmas ornaments. Also see Snowflake wire form. Sold in 50 gram packages (apprx. 270 bugles).

30mm  (1 1/4") (straight and twisted)

There is considerable variation in the size of each bead in a package.   The edges are sharp. Most people use these in making snowflakes, stars and Christmas ornaments. Also see Snowflake wire form. Sold in 50 gram packages (apprx. 180 bugles).

Micro Bugles (1x2mm)

These are similar in size to liquid silver beads and 2mm gemstone heishi beads. Sold by the hank. Apprx 3200 beads on a hank.

Czech bugle beads are 2.7mm in diameter, and are thicker than most of the Japanese bugles we offer. The Czech bugles have very sharp ends. The Japanese ones do not. There is noticeably variability in the size of Czech bugles from bead to bead. The Japanese bugles are very consistent in size.
