MINIMUM ORDER

Some products may be ordered in packages of 1 piece; others must be ordered in packages of multiple pieces. The number of items in a package is listed as the "Minimum Unit (M.U.). Unless otherwise stated, the Minimum Unit (M.U.) is 1 (one) piece.  The M.U. is the smallest number of pieces that must be ordered of any one style or code number.    That is, the Minimum Unit is the package size. Products must be ordered in Minimum Units. Thus, if a product has a M.U. of 4 pieces, the customer would order this item in multiples of 4. There is no splitting of Minimum Units.

A minimum total order of $10.00 is required for Retail Orders.    

NOTE:  Shipping costs are expensive.    We assume, when you place an order, that you are familiar with  our   SHIPPING cost policies (see below), and that you have decided that the cost of shipping added to your purchase is something you have consented to.

A $150.00 (total retail price) minimum order is required for wholesale orders.    This is approximately $100.00 (total wholesale price). If the amount of the order submitted is less than $150.00, the order will automatically be handled as a retail order, and subject to discount terms associated with retail orders.

PLACING AN ORDER

The Land of Odds Shopping Cart is an online shopping tool that allows you to select products from all our shops, alcoves and shelves and place them in an order  form prior to committing to a purchase.  Think of it as a shopping cart in a store.  As you shop, you can fill up the cart and take items out of the cart before submitting your order and payment information.  You may review your order at any time by Clicking the "Land of Odds - Reach Us" button at the bottom of any web catalog page.  To place an item in your shopping cart, just CLICK on the highlighted "ADD TO CART" symbol located next to each product.  When you add a product to the Land of Odds Shopping Cart, the item description and code and its price is entered automatically for you.  All you need to do is enter the quantity of each item you would like.  To change any desired quantities, use the CHANGE or RECALCULATE BUTTON next to the item in your shopping cart.

Our ORDER DEPARTMENT separately computes any retail quantity discounts, wholesale discounts, sales tax, shipping/handling costs, and overseas international tariffs and the like, after you submit your order. You will not see this information on your on-line shopping cart/order form, and the shipping/handling costs presented are an estimate only. You will see this information on the invoice included with your shipped order. When you are ready to send us your order, simply press the "CHECKOUT" button.   If no activity occurs on the Land of Odds Shopping Cart for 12 hours, any selections or activity not already submitted to Land of Odds will be deleted.

Land of Odds On-Line only accepts credit cards for payment.  Credit card information must be given at the time of your order.  Land of Odds accepts American Express, VISA, and MasterCard credit cards.

When you place your order, your credit card company "authorizes" the total amount of the order including the estimated shipping. At the time we ship your order, we adjust this authorized amount for any applied retail or wholesale discounts, any out-of-stock or partial packages shipped, and the actual shipping costs.

The On-Line Order Form is the best and fastest way to submit an order. While you may email, telephone or fax your order to us, these methods will slow the fulfillment of the order. When orders are placed with us off-line, a staff person has to replace the order on-line, because the computer generates a lot of information for the staff about fulfilling the order.

SECURITY AND PRIVACY OF PERSONAL INFORMATION:  

Land Of Odds is highly sensitive to the privacy interests of consumers and believes that the protection of those interests is one of its most significant responsibilities.  After all, we do business in this cyber-community as well.  Credit Card transactions are secure.  

In acknowledgment of its obligations, Land Of Odds has adopted the following Privacy Policy applicable to information about consumers that it acquires in the course of its business:

Credit card transactions to Land of Odds are protected by encryption and other online security programs, and are in conformance with requirements of Visa, MasterCard and American Express.  However, Land of Odds, its owners and employees are not responsible for any breaks in confidentiality of information transferred over the Internet.  The information you submit with any order will only be known to two parties:  you and Land of Odds.  We will not share your personal data with anyone else -- period!  If others want this information, you must give it to them.  Customer credit card information is not stored on-line.

ORDERING ONLINE WITH LAND OF ODDS IS ABSOLUTELY SECURE:

Some people are concerned about the safety of having their credit card number wiz its way over the Internet. Our experience has been that it is as safe via the net as it is in any transaction.

To safeguard your on-line credit card information, Land of Odds utilizes SSL (Secure Socket Layers), the most advanced online ordering security system available.  SSL encrypts all ordering information so that no part of your order -- including your name, address, and credit card number -- can be read in transit by some third party.  SSL works with both Netscape and Internet Explorer browsers.

We do not store or keep your credit card information in our files.

The billing name and address on your order form should match the billing name and address of the credit card you are using.  Credit card orders may be delayed without exact name and address and zip code match, and without CVVS code verification.

You may pre-pay for an order with a money order or cashier's check. [For international orders, be sure these are made out in US dollars.] We do not normally accept payment with personal checks.

1. First email(oddsian@landofodds.com) us with a list of the items and quantities you want. Also include your ZIP CODE (of the ship-to address), or COUNTRY if international order. [If you require special shipping instructions, include these as well.]

[One suggestion: You can fill in a shopping cart on-line, and copy it and cut and paste it into your email. This would save you some time from typing all the items out.]

In written orders, please be sure to include your mailing address and daytime telephone number.  A daytime phone number is essential if we have a problem with your order.

2. We will compute the shipping charges, and email you back with a total.

3. You then would send us the money order or cashiers check.

4. We begin processing your order after we receive you payment.

SALES TAX

Retail orders delivered to any address in the State of Tennessee shall be charged the current sales tax rate, as of now, 9.25%.
Beginning July 1, 2007, Tennessee will require that we charge whatever sales tax is in effect in the Tennessee location we ship TO, rather than that in effect in Davidson County where we are shipping FROM.

Retail orders delivered to any address outside the State of Tennessee are not charged Tennessee sales taxes.

NOTE: In 2006, as gas prices continue to skyrocket, UPS as well as the US Postal Service, have been inching their rates up as well. They may work from a base rate, but they tighten the scale at which an additional gram triggers the next shipping price, they change the distances that triggers the next shipping price, they change the size of the box allowed which triggers the next shipping price, they change the charges for add-ons such as delivery confirmation, insurance, and the like. In 2007, and again in 2008, UPS and FEDEX raised their rates up 4.9-6.9%. The Postal Service also has subtle ways to raise rates, between their bi-annual rate increases. For example, they've been shrinking the size of the box allowed, before the next rate level kicks in. May 14, 2007, the USPS raised rates and fees considerably, particularly for international shipments. The USPS also tightened the gram rate levels which trigger the next higher rate, and the box sizes, which trigger the next higher rates. They very narrowly restricted what they consider "standard" sizes, which get charged their posted rates.

Example:  Shipping to Shelbyville, TN (about 50 miles from Nashville, but considered rural) is almost as expensive as shipping to Portland, Oregon, considered urban -- both about $11.00 for up to the first pound. Shipping to Nolensville, Tennessee, which actually shares a boundary (but obviously the wrong boundary) with Nashville, is also charged the rural rate of $11.00.

The furthest "continental US shipping distance" from Nashville, TN is anywhere in Nevada, eastern Washington, eastern Oregon, Idaho.

A 1-pound package, shipped via the US Postal Service air mail to Europe, typically costs $27.00.

Shipping to Canada: For smaller orders, we ship US Postal Service First Class at $6.65-8.57. For larger orders, we ship Global Priority Mail which starts at $20.70.

If you would like an item shipped to an address different than your billing address, please indicate this when you place your order.

UPS will not ship to a PO Box Number, only an exact street address. If you want us to ship to a PO Box Number, we can send it through the US Postal Service Priority Mail. This may delay shipment of your order by 2-3 days, because we don't go to the Post Office every day.

OVERSEAS INTERNATIONAL ORDERS, TARIFFS, FEES

International Orders.  Additional shipping charges and applicable tariffs and duties apply to all orders shipped outside of the United States.  Shipping and handling charges will be charged to your credit card.  You will be responsible for any tariffs and duties.  Land of Odds will not charge your credit card for tariffs and duties.  NOTE: Shipping charges for overseas delivery can be very steep.  If you would like an estimate of shipping charges, please e-mail us.

International orders typically are shipped via US Post Office, using either Global Priority Mail or Global Express Mail, depending on the weight and value of the package.

Land of Odds primarily accepts payment for orders by credit card.  However, international customers may pre-pay their orders with a valid cashiers check from their local bank made out in US Dollars.

All pertinent discounts, shipping and handling costs, sales tax, fees and the like will be computed by our ORDER DEPARTMENT after you have placed your order.  The shopping cart total presented on your screen at the time of the order only gives an estimated grand total of merchandise prices plus shipping and sales taxes.

NOTE:  It is the customer's responsibility to be familiar with import restrictions on any types of merchandise.  It is also the customer's responsibility to be familiar with any USA export restrictions of merchandise to their country.

SUPPLY, AVAILABILITY and CONDITION OF MERCHANDISE,
and BEADS & FINDINGS

BACKORDERS

We would like to fill your orders completely, but it is not always possible to keep every item in stock all the time.    When an item is out of stock, we mark that as " O/S " on your order invoice, and adjust the charge on your invoice for this accordingly.    We also do not automatically backorder it for you.    If an item is marked out of stock, please re-order it with your next order.

If you ask us to keep something on backorder, we will.    All backorders are automatically cancelled if they total less than $50.00, or if they are more than 30-days old .

We ship backorders the most efficient way possible. Regular shipping charges are added to backorders.   You are not charged for any backorder until the merchandise is actually shipped.

How long does it take to get a backordered item back in stock? This depends on the type of merchandise. Most beads and related products are made overseas. This means that if something is not currently in stock, it may be many months before it is back in stock. Overseas companies are not as efficient, nor do they operate according to the same incentives, as American firms. To import items from overseas, usually means accumulating a large amount of inventory, to justify the expenses of shipping.

Sterling Silver Letter Beads - 4-7 days
Leather or other stringing materials - 2 weeks

Sometimes a specific color may be out of stock for over a year. Because of the nature of how glass beads are made, not every color is made all the time. Instead, they are rotated, usually from lightest to darkest, and then back again. For more popular colors, shapes and sizes, it is often not to the bead factory's advantage to meet demand. Outside America, it is very difficult to fire workers. If new workers are put on the job to meet increased demand for a certain item, when that demand slackens, the factory often has to retain the workers. So, when something becomes very popular, it is not unusual for it to be taken out of production.

UNCLAIMED ORDERS

Unclaimed orders will be charged a 25% restocking fee plus postage/shipping expenses incurred.

SPECIALS, SALES, RAINCHECKS

Special and sale prices are in effect for a specified time period, or until that time when products are unavailable.  Land of Odds does NOT issue rainchecks for special and sale prices.

RETURNS, REFUNDS, & RE-STOCKING FEES

RETURNS:  Return Authorization Number required for all returns.  Please call or e-mail us for a RA# before shipping.  All returns must be properly packaged, and have a valid RA# prominently written on outside of the box.   No returns on any product after 30 days!

25% Re-Stocking Fee charged (on value of items before discounts) when:
- Returns of merchandise, the retail listed price value of which is over $75.00
- Returns of any cut cord or chain (that is, a length that is not a full spool)
- Returns of any merchandise, when the original order was placed by phone, email or fax, rather than on-line.

- Any Unauthorized Return

Customers are responsible for return shipping charges.

Your satisfaction is guaranteed.  You have 30 days to make up your mind.  If you are not delighted with your purchase, simply return it:

• in "like-new" condition,

• in its original packaging,

• with your receipt

• within 30 days

Where the retail listed price value of the merchandise is less than $75.00, the full merchandise expense will be refunded. Returns of merchandise, the retail listed price value of which is over $75.00, will be subject to a 25% restocking fee.  Shipping and related charges are not refundable.  Refunds are made as a credit to your credit card.

All returns must be authorized and returned freight prepaid.   Unauthorized returns will automatically be charged a 25% restocking fee .

Customer satisfaction is our goal.  If you are not completely satisfied within 30 days of receipt of the merchandise, please tell us why.  We will refund your money, subject to any restocking fee terms, or send you a replacement.

Returns sent without a RETURN AUTHORIZATION number will be subject to a 25% restocking fee.

No Returns will be accepted if sent after 30 days.
