Fire Polish Beads

Fire-polish glass beads are made in the Czech Republic, and have at least one facet on them.  These glass beads are pressed in a mold, then machine faceted and polished.  The fire-polishing technique produces a scratch-resistant bead with slightly rounded facets.  In this alcove, we feature round, faceted beads.  Another type of fire-polish bead is a 5-sided bead called a satina bead, also found in these Glass Bead Shelves.

Belly Donuts are a new squat round shape.   The shape of this bead intensifies the colors of the bead. These are sometimes referred to as Gemstone Donuts or Gemstone Bellies.

These beads are widely used in Y-necklaces or lariats, as well as other jewelry.  The faceting and finishing effects of these beads helps make them shine.  For a brighter sparkle, you might turn to Austrian leaded glass crystal beads .  For an alternative or complementary look, you might use round Gemstone beads.   You will find Y-necklace and rosary necklace components in our Findings Displays.

Many colors are available.  Different colors are differently priced.  Some colors, like reds and pinks, are difficult and expensive to make.
