TOOLS

Most projects require a chain-nose (w/smooth faces) and a round-nose pliers (with at least one side that is perfectly round), and a wire cutters.    If you are using cable wire, you will also need a crimp pliers.

For beginners, we suggest starting with low-end tools (usually around $10.00 in price), getting a good feel for using these tools, and then purchasing higher quality tools. Besides those listed above, you might also consider purchasing a bead reamer.

Some of the types of tools to choose from:
Anvil

ADHESIVES / GLUES

[Adhesives are always shipped through "ground" service, not air, 2-day or overnight.  These may be shipped only within the United States.]

In jewelry making, usually the least desirable glue to use is superglue. While it works for some tasks, it's usually not the preferred glue for most tasks. A superglue bond dries like glass. That means, when the piece of jewelry you've made moves, the bond easily shatters like glass. Because "movement" is an important factor with any piece of jewelry, glues, like E6000 and 527, which dry more like rubber, and thus absorb the shock of any movement, are preferable.

CLEANERS / POLISHES

The Sunshine Cloth is an easy-to-use cloth that "eats" tarnish, but does not harm gemstones.
