Craft wire is
available in several electroplated colors and gauges.
Craft wire is available in two qualitys -- Good and Best.
Beadery Craft Wire is considered a Good Quality.
On the best quality (German or Colored
Copper Wire ), the
finish adheres better and longer to the base wire, which is copper, and
the wire
is a little easier to work with.
Size 11 seed beads work well with 28 and 24 gauge, not 20 gauge
wire. Most 4mm, 6mm, 8mm and
larger glass beads will slip the 20-gauge wire. Some of
the 8mm and larger Czech glass, and most of the East India glass beads
will slip up to 18-gauge wire.
Beadery Craft Wire is a good quality wire for craft and
jewelry uses. Silver, copper and colored wires are copper with
anti-tarnish colors and coatings. Gold wire is jeweler’s brass with an
anti-tarnish coating. Made in the USA.
Not all colors are available in all gauges.
We have precious metal wire (gold-filled, sterling silver, bronze,
copper, nickel) in our Wire
Section , as well as Colored
Copper Wire from Artistic Wire.
WIG
JIGS

We carry
two models of wig-jigs that are specifically for designing wire jewelry
components. Useful with 18-, 20- and 22-gauge wire.
The DELPHI
model is a square hole pattern.
The CENTAUR is a combined square hole pattern and round hole pattern.
With the
square hole pattern only, you will be unable to make a 30 or 60 degree
angle. These angles are part of an equilateral triangle. This would make
creating a star pattern difficult, for example.
