GOALS AND OBJECTIVES: To further your knowledge of wire wrapping technique to create a unique bracelet.
DESCRIPTION of MAJOR PROJECTS/TASKS: Combining the technique of the cabochon pendant with the pattern wire bracelet. You will create a cabochon and then attach to the pattern wire to create a bracelet.
DESCRIPTION of SKILLS/TECHNIQUES/CONCEPTS TO BE LEARNED:

- learn to wrap a cabochon with the ability to link on both ends.
- learn to create consistent spirals and manipulate the wire to create a balanced design
- learn to wrap pattern wire in sections to create the bracelet.
- create a clasp and attach it to the piece

CLASS TIME ESTIMATE: 3 1/2 - 4 hours

ADDITIONAL CLASS COSTS PER STUDENT:

Student will need to purchase wire, pattern wire, and a cabochon.

WIRE9731:  WRAPPING A CABOCHON - BRACELET

Description: Using the wire wrapping technique to create a cabochon bracelet with spirals and color. This project is as elegant as the design made with the excess wire and the cabochon used. Also enhancing the piece, is the choice of pattern wire to create the bracelet component. This technique can also be used to create unique pendants.

5 feet, 20 gauge square, half hard sterling silver or 14KT gold-filled wire
1 foot, 20 gauge half round, half hard sterling silver or 14KT gold filled wire
Cabochons -- approximately the size of a quarter
*The instructor will have a variety of cabochons available for purchase. There are also many glass and gemstone cabachons available for purchase at Be Dazzled Beads.
