WIRE9700: Pattern Wire Bracelet or previous wire-wrapping experience

GOALS AND OBJECTIVES: To further your knowledge of wire wrapping technique to create a pendant.
DESCRIPTION of MAJOR PROJECTS/TASKS: Creating a pendant in basic wire wrapping technique with a simple cabochon in gold-filled or sterling silver wire.
DESCRIPTION of SKILLS/TECHNIQUES/CONCEPTS TO BE LEARNED:

- learn how to determine amount of wire needed for a pendant
- learn to wire wrap multiple wires
- learn to use the tools to secure the cabochon
- learn to fashion a bail as an organic extension of your wire-wrapped piece

CLASS TIME ESTIMATE: 2 1/2 - 3 hours

Description: Learn to use the wire wrapping techniques to secure a cabochon for a pendant and create a unique piece. You will learn to make a bail and a unique design with the excess wire. This project allows you to have a finished pendant that is one of a kind. Many techniques with the tools to show you different design ideas.

2 feet - 20 ga square, half-hard sterling silver or 14KT gold-filled wire
1 foot - 20 ga half round, half hard, sterling silver or 14KT gold-filled wire
Cabochons - approximately the size of a quarter
*The instructor will have a variety of cabochons available for purchase. There are also many glass and gemstone cabachons available for purchase at Be Dazzled Beads.
