Learn the steps in making a bead-chain rosary. You can adapt this technique for both secular and non-secular projects.

At the beginning of this class, the typical student should be able to do/know the following:

Know what the different types of jewelry findings are, such as what clasps, headpins and eyepins are.

Understanding the basics about wire and wire shaping.

Be comfortable using tools for shaping wire.  

 

At the end of this class, the typical student should be able to achieve/accomplish/learn the following:

20 gauge Wire (minimum of 5 feet)
6mm round beads (fire polish, druks, gemstone, whatever)
rosary or y-necklace centerpiece
cross or crucifix or other decorative drop element

 

Tools: (tools are provided for classroom use, thought students may want to purchase their own)

chain nose pliers
wire cutters
optional:  flat nose pliers
optional: flush cut pliers
optional:  step pliers
