PREREQUISITES: Orientation to Jewelry Making
GOALS AND OBJECTIVES: To teach the student about different types of wire, tools for manipulating wire, and begin to explore different ways wire can be shaped and textured.
DESCRIPTION of MAJOR PROJECTS/TASKS: Make jewelry findings, including jump ring, eye pins, head pins, ear wires, clasps, and connectors. 
DESCRIPTION of SKILLS/TECHNIQUES/CONCEPTS TO BE LEARNED: - learn what wire is
- learn what wire gauge means
- learn what wire hardness means
- manipulate wire and understand its resistance
- how to use the tools with wire
CLASS TIME ESTIMATE: 2 1/2 hours

CLASS FEE and DEPOSIT: $30.00 fee / $30.00 deposit
ADDITIONAL CLASS COSTS PER STUDENT:

will need to purchase different gauges of wire (copper, brass, sterling)

At the beginning of this class, the typical student should be able to do/know the following: Know what the different types of jewelry findings are, such as what clasps, headpins and eyepins are.
At the end of this class, the typical student should be able to achieve/accomplish/learn the following: Make their own jewelry findings.
Know what wire is, and how to buy it.
Know what the tools do.
