GOALS AND OBJECTIVES:

Student will learn the history, tools, and traditional materials of macrame.   Using three basic knots, the student will construct a friendship bracelet made of hemp.

A friendship bracelet using the knots learned

Three basic knots in macrame: 
Lark's head
square knot
half hitch

Care of hemp string will be discussed

At the beginning of this class, the typical student should be able to do/know the following: Should know their left from their right.   This is important in tying knots and braiding.
At the end of this class, the typical student should be able to achieve/accomplish/learn the following: Three basic knots in macrame

Be able to reproduce the friendship bracelet made in class
