GOALS AND OBJECTIVES:

To create molds from found objects and use those molds to create duplicate PMC+ elements

 
DESCRIPTION of MAJOR PROJECTS/TASKS:

Create molds from found objects using molding compound and polymer clay.
Use handmade molds to cast duplicate PMC+ elements

 
DESCRIPTION of SKILLS/TECHNIQUES/CONCEPTS TO BE LEARNED:

- Learn how to handle silicone molding compound
- Learn how to handle polymer clay to make a mold
- Learn how to use molds with PMC+

 
CLASS TIME ESTIMATE: 3-4 hours
MIN/MAX # STUDENTS PER CLASS: 4-8 students
CLASS FEE and DEPOSIT: $50.00 instructional fee ($40.00 deposit reserves space)
plus, $30.00 laboratory and molding supplies fee
ADDITIONAL CLASS COSTS PER STUDENT:

Students will need to purchase PMC+ clay in lump form.  

Tools and equipment needed will be provided.    Students may bring their own tools, or purchase them from Be Dazzled Beads, as well.

At the beginning of this class, the typical student should be able to do/know the following:

Students should know how to handle lump, paste, and syringe clay, how to fire and finish PMC+ and several ways in which to embellish PMC+ surfaces

 
At the end of this class, the typical student should be able to achieve/accomplish/learn the following: Use silicone molding compound to create a mold
Use polymer clay to create a mold
Cast duplicate elements from PMC+
Written Instructions Provided YES 
Finished Sample(s) Provided YES 
Supply List

Students will need:
2 full-size lump PMC+ clay

Students are asked to bring fetishes, beads, textures, and other objects to make molds of.

OPTIONAL:  Polymer clay, can be scraps

Tools, including teaspoon sets, silicone molding compound and polymer clay will be provided in class, though students may bring their own, or purchase them through Be Dazzled Beads.
