GOALS AND OBJECTIVES:

To create a silver collage from found textiles and natural materials.

 
DESCRIPTION of MAJOR PROJECTS/TASKS:

Create a silver collage pendant or brooch using natural materials and found textiles.

 
DESCRIPTION of SKILLS/TECHNIQUES/CONCEPTS TO BE LEARNED: - Learn how to replace natural and found materials with PMC+
- Learn how to combine PMC+ elements
CLASS TIME ESTIMATE: 3-4 hours

CLASS FEE and DEPOSIT:

$50.00 instructional fee ($40.00 deposit reserves space)
plus, $20.00 laboratory fee

 
ADDITIONAL CLASS COSTS PER STUDENT:

Students will need to purchase PMC+ clay in syringe and paste forms.   Students are asked to bring with them a variety of found objects (textiles and natural materials).

Tools and equipment needed will be provided.    Students may bring their own tools, or purchase them from Be Dazzled Beads, as well.

At the beginning of this class, the typical student should be able to do/know the following: Students should know how to handle lump, paste, and syring clay, how to fire and finish PMC+ and several ways in which to embellish PMC+ surfaces.
At the end of this class, the typical student should be able to achieve/accomplish/learn the following: Replace natural and found materials with PMC+

Combine multiple PMC+ elements into a collage

Supply List

Students will need:
2 jars PMC+ paste
1/2 size PMC+ syringe

Students are asked to bring a selection of materials/objects they can work into a collage and turn into fine silver, including things like:
leaves
branches
bloom casings
fabrics, monk cloth and burlap
twine and string
raffia
textured papers and cardboards

Tools will be provided in class, though students may bring their own, or purchase them through Be Dazzled Beads.
