GOALS AND OBJECTIVES:

To create hollow beads and vessels using armatures

 
DESCRIPTION of MAJOR PROJECTS/TASKS:

Create hollow bead or vessel using a cork clay armature
Create hollow bead using food as an armature
Create a hollow tube bead using a cylindrical armature

 
DESCRIPTION of SKILLS/TECHNIQUES/CONCEPTS TO BE LEARNED:

- learn how to construct hollow beads using different types of armatures
- learn how to construct hollow beads using both paste and lump type PMC+

 
CLASS TIME ESTIMATE: 3-4 hours

CLASS FEE and DEPOSIT:

$50.00 instructional fee ($40.00 deposit reserves space)
plus, $25.00 laboratory and hollow forms materials fee

 
ADDITIONAL CLASS COSTS PER STUDENT:

Students will need to purchase PMC+ clay in lump, syringe and paste forms.

Tools and equipment needed will be provided.    Students may bring their own tools, or purchase them from Be Dazzled Beads, as well.

At the beginning of this class, the typical student should be able to do/know the following: Students should know how to handle lump, paste and syringe clay, how to fire and finish PMC+ and several ways in which to embellish PMC+ surfaces.
At the end of this class, the typical student should be able to achieve/accomplish/learn the following: Create a hollow bead over armature using lump PMC+
Create a hollow bead over armature using paste PMC+
Create hollow beads/objects over different types of armatures

Supply List

Students will need:
1 jar PMC+ paste
1 full size lump PMC+
1/2 size PMC+ syringe

Students are asked to bring along different varieties and shapes and surface textures of snack crackers.

Tools and cork clay and sobo glue will be provided in class, though students may bring their own, or purchase them through Be Dazzled Beads.
