GOALS AND OBJECTIVES: Students will be introduced to the tubular peyote stitch method of beading, learn about thread tension and how this affects piece, learn how to add in new thread and finish/tie off piece for completion.  Learn how to "read" a pattern.
Learn how to create a tube.

PEY2011:  TUBULAR PEYOTE

Students will learn the tubular peyote, stitches method of beading which consists of working around a tubular form, in order to create a "pocket", in our case, a spiral peyoto tube bracelet.   The importance of thread tension will be discussed and demonstrated.

At the beginning of this class, the typical student should be able to do/know the following:

Create a simple flat peyote zipper
Thread a beading needle using Nymo thread
Know the uses of wax

At the end of this class, the typical student should be able to achieve/accomplish/learn the following: Able to work a simple project using the tubular peyote stitch
Create tubular forms to work on
Be prepared to learn more about tubular peyote.

The seed beads, especially the 11/0 and 15/0's can be in the samce color family, but there needs to be enough contrast that you can see the difference.
