GOALS AND OBJECTIVES:

Learn one method of stringing beads onto thread.
Learn to apply string beads to an object using an adhesive.
Have fun and get in spirit of Spring

 

DESCRIPTION of MAJOR PROJECTS/TASKS: Beaded Egg -- may not complete the whole project in class
DESCRIPTION of SKILLS/TECHNIQUES/CONCEPTS TO BE LEARNED:

Students will learn the scoop method of stringing beads.   Students will learn to manage long lengths of beaded thread.   Students will learn how to apply 527 bond adhesive to objects to secure beaded thread to piece.   Students will learn how to finish off piece and hide excess threads.

Get into the spirit of Spring by creating your very own Beaded Egg.   In this class, students learn how to string beads onto thead, manage a very long string of beads, use adhesive to apply the beaded thread to an object.   No prior experience is required.

At the beginning of this class, the typical student should be able to do/know the following: Students do not need any prior experience.
At the end of this class, the typical student should be able to achieve/accomplish/learn the following: Student will be able to make bead mix for stringing, thread long lengths of thread with beads to complete the project, apply adhesive to object and adhere beads, hide thead ends to complete project.

Size 11/0 czech AND japanese Seed beads (that will be mixed together in class)     You will need enough seed beads to fill a 1/2 cup container.
