OPTIONAL PREREQUISITE: BW2001: Needle and Thread - Netted Needlecase

GOALS AND OBJECTIVES: Students will be introduced to a basic form of netting, enabling them to enclose a circular object within the netting.   Discussion of tension will be touched on briefly.   Students will learn to add in new thread to a piece in progress, finish/tie off a piece for completion, and begin to get in the spirit of the holidays by completing a beaded ornament.

- learn how to add thread to a piece already in progress
- briefly learn about thread tension and how it will affect this piece
- learn to finish off a piece for completion

Students learn how to decorate a round Christmas ornament using a netting stitch and seed beads.    Students will learn to add in a piece of thread as needed for a piece already in progress.   Students will learn how to finish off a piece for completion.

Create a beautiful beaded netting around a Christmas tree ornament.

Students should be able to demonstrate competency in completing basic netting technique, be able to add in thread as needed and be comfortable in finishing off this piece.
