CENTER FOR BEADWORK & JEWELRY ARTS BS0001: Basics of Bead Stringing and Attaching
Clasps This course introduces the student to the fundamentals of bead stringing and attaching clasps. The student learns two techniques - use of needle/thread/wax and use of flexible cable wire with crimp beads and crimping pliers. The range of types of clasps, and their pros and cons, is discussed. We go over how to use all the other little pieces -- called Jewelry Findings -- such as bead tips, end caps, crimp ends, separator bars, attach rings, connectors, jump rings, eyeglass holder ends, and the like.
