Kathleen Lynam
I am a puppeteer and teaching artist for the Nashville Institute for the Arts. I
am proud to be a Wolf Trap Artist, one of 150 in America. This
program has allowed me to work with Head Start children for the last 9 years,
teaching life and academic skills through the performing arts.
I met Rebecca, who had a bead store in Franklin, and she's the one who taught
me how to bead. I loved it! I made a small amulet bag, then
several others. As a puppeteer, I was able to incorporate
my love of beads into the embellishment of my puppets that I make.
I'm a mother of three, and have a daughter -- Colleen -- at Smith College. My
boys live chained in the basement -- Brendan and Michael. Ha!
I love to knit. I like to bake and cook. I collect
PEZ dispensers and Oaxaca hand-carved wood creatures.
